First off let me start by clarifying that Ms. Christiani from the very start, genuinely cares for her clients and their families. She takes her work very personally and will not stand for any miscarriage of justice. In my case the city of Baltimore tried to railroad me for an incident where nobody was harmed, and the "victim" was actually the aggressor armed with an AK pistol. I was minding my own business with my wife and young daughter when the "victim" approached and threatened us with said firearm. I had a concealed carry permit out of Pennsylvania which is not recognized in maryland (I knew this before hand) and the firearm i had was legally obtained through an FFL dealer and with completed ATF4473. I never brandished nor aimed my gun however I did mention I had it and wasn't afraid to use it to protect my family. He wisely drove away and I went to the police myself, when he saw me walking up to the officer. He quickly interjected himself ahead of me and flipped the script to make me the aggressor. I was arrested and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, prohibited person in possession of a handgun (I was not a prohibited person), charges for ammunition, gun on person, gun in vehicle and more. I was looking at upward of 30 years prison maximum if all charges stuck. BCPD said that my firearm wasn't even registered to anybody and was a ghost gun, even after being presented with the completed 4473 they stuck to their guns. I sat in central booking for 19 days held on no bail until my family hired Ms. Christiani. Immediately that same day she came to see me and assured me she was going to get me out one way or another, she flawlessly executed the 2nd bail review me being denied bail initially. And I was released to home confinement. All of this within 4 days of her being retained. And she was retained on a Thursday afternoon, anybody in jail knows the weekend is dead time. The entirety of the case She was ALWAYS available for any questions I had or even just to talk or to console me in regards to my fears of impending doom and missing my children growing up. She never once made me feel like I was a burden or inconvenience, and despite her heavy case load she would speak to me for over and hour just to put my mind at ease. As I stated before she genuinely cares about defending her clients and their wellbeing and making sure justice is delivered fairly. Through her dedication and persistence over months my case was finally resolved today and jail time is not on the menu, thanks only to Cynthia Christiani. Her 20+ years at the Baltimore city public defenders office has given her valuable insight into the workings of the legal system as well as having built connections within. I believe that this coupled with her pitbull like defense is the reason she consistently has the best possible outcomes. I was convicted on a simple misdemeanor that I WAS DEAD TO RIGHTS guilty of. There was no way around it. Given my experience I would recommend the law office of Cynthia Christiani 10 out of 10 times to anybody in like circumstances.

How can an attorney help protect a young driver and their license?
Young drivers on provisional licenses are subject to easy suspension by the MVA due to an accumulation of points. When any driver gets a payable traffic ticket, our first thought many times may be to “just pay it.” But, when we “just pay” these tickets, we are admitting guilt and, after therefore now subject to the maximum fines and the accumulation of points on our driving records.
